Bacteriophages

Abstract

Los virus que parasitan a las bacterias, denominados bacteriófagos o fagos, están volviendo a la actualidad científica, hecho evidenciado con la creación del Instituto Médico Howard Hughs en Estados Unidos (EE. UU.), o el Instituto CRU-MEDI en Reino Unido; este cambio de interés se debe a la posibilidad de utilizarlos en terapia antibacteriana, frente a bacterias multiresistentes.

English Abstract

Viruses that parasitize bacteria, called bacteriophages or phages, are returning to scientific news, evidenced by the creation of the Howard Hughs Medical Institute in the United States (USA), or the CRU-MEDI Institute in the United Kingdom; This change of interest is due to the possibility of using them in antibacterial therapy, against multiresistant bacteria.
